Classic cross-country skiing requires well-waxed skis for grip and glide. Waxless skis have often been slow, noisy in the snow, and less effective in varying snow conditions. On the other hand, racing skis require constant waxing and cleaning. This has meant that many have opted out of classic technique, or perhaps abandoned cross-country skiing altogether.
Then came Atomic’s Skintec, featuring technology where the ski’s mohair grip zones provide perfect grip and good glide in all snow conditions and temperatures.
Atomic Pro Skintec is the latest addition to the Skintec family. With a fresh new design and a slightly simpler construction, it sits in a lower price segment while maintaining the same superb grip characteristics in all conditions. Atomic Pro Skintec is easy to ski, quiet, and wax-free.
– This is the ski for those who want one ski for all occasions, or for sporty newcomers attracted to cross-country skiing as an excellent form of exercise but who don’t want to learn everything about waxing. We believe Atomic Pro Skintec will get more people to experience the joy of classic skiing, says Karl Zeitz, responsible for Atomic Cross-Country in Sweden.
Atomic Pro Skintec will be available on the Swedish market fall/winter 2015.
