Be Visible with Fibre Flare
At Swesport, we met representatives for Fibre Flare and Micro Flare – very clever products that can be attached to bikes, bags, helmets, and kayaks using fiber optic technology.

At Swesport, we met representatives for Fibre Flare and Micro Flare – very clever products that can be attached to bikes, bags, helmets, and kayaks.
Unlike regular LED lighting, Fibre Flare and its little sibling Micro Flare are based on fiber optics, creating a flexible product that’s easy to adapt to your gear and visible at 270° when attached. The two products emit a strong glow and are visible at 300 and 200 meters respectively.
Fibre Flare is water-resistant and can withstand heavy rain, while Micro Flare is fully waterproof and designed for more demanding activities such as kayaking. Fibre Flare comes in red, blue, yellow, and green with a burn time of 75 hours on two alkaline AAA batteries, while Micro Flare comes in white, red, blue, yellow, and green and lasts 50 hours on lithium batteries.
As kayakers, we quickly noticed Fibre Flare and especially the waterproof Micro Flare at the trade show. The range of uses is very broad, and since the products are very easy to attach, they’re excellent on a life vest or mounted on the bow or stern of a kayak. A test of Fibre Flare and Micro Flare is promised for spring/summer.
