Fjällräven Launches a New Generation of Sustainable Shell Garments for Fall

Fall 2015 sees Fjällräven launch a new generation of waterproof shell garments in the award-winning Keb family. The Keb Eco-Shell series is designed not only to protect against harsh weather and offer first-class breathability, but also to have the smallest possible environmental impact. The new collection includes jackets, trousers, and an anorak for demanding year-round adventures.

The first generation of Eco-Shell garments came in 2011. Shortly after, Fjällräven began work on complementing the technical Keb series with waterproof shell garments. This fall, Keb Eco-Shell arrives in stores, but when the collection was first shown at the winter sports trade show ISPO in February, one of the garments – the Keb Eco-Shell Anorak – was recognized with a prestigious ISPO Award.

At the core of the new series is Eco-Shell, a newly developed 3-layer membrane laminate that blocks wind and moisture while high breathability ventilates body heat moisture. The material is woven to stretch and is entirely polyester – both new and recycled – making it easy to recycle in the future. Additionally, the garments are carbon offset and the DWR treatment is completely free of fluorocarbons.

The Keb Eco-Shell series consists of a jacket, an anorak, and trousers, all in men’s and women’s models. There’s also a longer, lightly insulated parka and a pair of high-cut bib trousers. The design is stripped-down with few but well-balanced features, all to provide lightweight yet durable garments with maximum function in exposed terrain. All cuts are optimized for perfect fit – body-hugging yet leaving room for insulating layers underneath.

Keb Eco-Shell will be available in stores in September 2015 and consists of the following garments:
