Garmin now presents the Rino® 650 Nordic – a handheld hunting and communication radio integrated with GPS and map functionality. With a powerful 5-watt 155MHz communication radio, the Rino 650 Nordic has been developed into a waterproof device with a 2.6-inch color touchscreen that can display all of Garmin’s detailed maps and is packed with smart features that are super easy to use. The Rino 650 Nordic also has Bluetooth.
See your friends: Rino’s unique ability to report its position means you can send your exact location to other Rino users so they can see you on their map screen. And after pairing the devices, you can request the position from your friends even in situations where they are unable to communicate themselves. You can also send text messages from your device to other Rino users in your area – perfect when it’s windy and noisy, or if you don’t want to disturb the wildlife.
Turn it on and head out: Rino has a high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix®, which quickly acquires satellite reception and maintains it even in difficult conditions. The 3-axis tilt-compensated compass ensures you quickly find the right course, and the barometric altimeter displays your altitude. With different profiles such as Marine, Outdoor, and Car, to name a few, the Rino can be customized to match any activity.
Detailed map: The Rino 650 Nordic comes preloaded with a base map of the entire world. The device has a memory card slot and 1.7 GB of built-in memory, making it easy to add detailed topographic maps, marine charts, or road maps.
Share wirelessly: With the Rino 650 Nordic, you can share your waypoints, tracks, routes, and caches wirelessly with other compatible Garmin GPS devices.
Rino 650 Nordic is expected to be available on the Swedish market in August 2012 at a recommended price of 4,495 SEK.
