Gore-Tex back in Patagonia's clothing collection
Patagonia brings Gore-Tex back to its jacket and trouser collection after W. L. Gore joins the bluesign standard.
Last summer, W. L. Gore joined the Bluesign standard, which led to Patagonia once again making jackets and trousers in Gore-Tex.
Patagonia’s autumn and winter collection is really extensive, and we’ll limit ourselves here to a few of the new jackets and novelties in the Ultralight Down Series.
The Super Alpine Jacket is made from three-layer Gore-Tex Pro Shell and is designed for long, cold days on the mountain. The adjustable hood has room for a helmet. The patented Touch Point System in the hood keeps out rain and snow. The front pockets are adapted for use with climbing harnesses and backpacks, and the “pleats” on the front allow the pockets to expand – without extra seams needed. The jacket weighs 499 grams and the recommended price is set at 600 Euro.
The Super Pluma Jacket is also made from three-layer Gore-Tex Pro Shell and designed to suit the alpinist who wants to head out on long tours. The hood, like on the Super Alpine Jacket, is adjustable and has the Touch Point System. The weight is 419 grams and the recommended price is 500 Euro.
In addition to these two jackets, there are trousers and ski/snowboard jackets in Gore-Tex Performance Shell.
Patagonia’s Ultralight Down Series is expanding this autumn, and the Ultralight Down Shirt (167.26 g) that we previously wrote about is joined by the Ultralight Down Jacket (240.97 g) and Hoody (283.5 g). We felt and squeezed these products quite a bit at the trade show, and the sensation is that they weigh practically nothing. The outer material is a strong 10-denier ripstop nylon and the down fill has 800-fill-power.
In the down segment, there will also be a bunting bag for children as well as two different parkas for women. One in the Ultralight series, which can be seen in the last image, and a longer variant called the Downtown Loft Parka.
