A Haglöfs product has a lot to tell. Now more people get the opportunity to share in these stories while contributing to a better world. On September 18, 2012, Haglöfs launches the secondhand concept Swapstories at the Haglöfs Brand Store in Stockholm. All proceeds go directly to charity.
Long durability is one of the hallmarks of a Haglöfs product. As consumers buy new products, the old ones often end up deep in the closet and stay there. That’s a particularly bad place for an outdoor product that has a lot left to give. With Swapstories, Haglöfs offers the opportunity to let someone else both use the product and share its history.
Every product has its own story
When a used product is turned in at the Haglöfs store in Stockholm, the previous owner gets to write a story about their experiences with the product. No story is too big or too small, and it can be anything from the great expedition to the first school trip. You can enter your story in advance via Haglöfs’ Swedish website, where you can also read about others’ stories. Gradually, interesting stories will also be available on Haglöfs’ Facebook page.
– Haglöfs Swapstories is a creative take on secondhand sales of Haglöfs products. It gives more users the opportunity to own classic Haglöfs products – and also get an exciting story to go with it. It’s also a great way to contribute financially to those who really need it, comments Nicolas Warchalowski, CEO of Haglöfs.
All proceeds go to charity
Anyone who turns in a used Haglöfs product receives a 20 percent discount on a new product in the store. The money the used product then generates from sales in the store goes directly to one of two charity projects chosen by the buyer: Vi-skogen or Projekt Åredalen.
– Swapstories combines sustainability, charity, and storytelling. It’s an initiative that comes from Haglöfs employees and further proof that our responsibility and sustainability ambitions are truly a part of our daily operations, comments Lennart Ekberg, Sustainability Director at Haglöfs.
