The Abisko is an elegant backpack for travel and outdoor life year-round. The 55-liter Abisko weighs just under 2 kg and the 75-liter version weighs barely 2.5 kg. The backpack is especially well-suited for trips in hilly terrain and mountains where agility, durability, and low weight are sought-after qualities. The slim profile provides plenty of swing room for poles during ski touring or for travel by train and bus in populated areas around the world. The Abisko comes in both women’s and men’s models and in several sizes. For women, the pack comes in 55 and 65 liters; for men in 55, 65, and 75 liters.
The carrying system has a comfortable back panel that easily adjusts to back length. On the women’s packs, the carrying system is adapted to women’s anatomy. The hip belt and shoulder straps are also ergonomically designed for comfortable load distribution. The hip belt has two-way front adjustment for easy handling, plus a smart stretch pocket for small items.
Worth Knowing About the Abisko
The model is top-loaded with a snow lock and a height-adjustable lid with two spacious pockets. A large front opening makes packing easier and provides a good overview of contents. Extra storage space for sandals or rain gear is available in the large front pocket, and the elastic side pockets fit a water bottle or 1-liter thermos. There’s also an internal security pocket.
All zippers have large, grip-friendly pull tabs for easy handling even with gloves on. Other appreciated details include the whistle on the chest strap, reflective details, and rain cover. To accommodate both larger and smaller loads, the backpack features compression straps and multiple flexible attachment points for equipment – including side daisy chains and pole attachment points on the front. The side compression straps can be buckled around to attach items like a sleeping pad to the front of the pack.
