Maloja Gives You Alp Appeal
Maloja was completely unknown to us until their digital catalog arrived – we visited their booth at Swesport to explore their exciting and bold collection.

Maloja was completely unknown to us until the days before Swesport when their digital catalog for next winter landed in our inbox. We naturally visited their booth to check out their very exciting and at times bold collection.
Maloja is named after a valley in Switzerland where founder Peter Rauber and a group of friends had an incredible weekend many years ago. Masses of powder snow, dead calm, brilliant sunshine, and everything all to themselves. Afterwards, when the group had special experiences together or individually, they’d call each other and say: “Yesterday, I had a ‘MALOJA’ again!” Maloja became the obvious name for the new clothing brand, and since its launch in 2004, development has been going straight up. Surfers have Billabong, boarders have Burton, and now we who cycle, love speed, action, and nature have our Maloja. Peter Rauber likes to say that he doesn’t want to make clothing brand number 21 that looks like the others. He wants to create number 1, in a new style: multi-purpose sport fashion.
Maloja makes clothes for those of us who do multisport, cycling, running, and skiing. Clothes for those of us with high demands on function, quality, and style. “Malojans” want to be active, stylish, warm, and dry in nature’s fantastic world, but also in the city, at home, or over a beer with good friends. Every collection has a theme. SOUL IN THE WOODS was the name of the first collection, inspired by the forest – and this will always be “Maloja’s soul” with symbols like trees and forest. This year’s collection goes by the name ALP APPEAL.
SWIP is the Swedish distributor for Maloja and they’ve provided us with brief captions for some of the images at the bottom of the article.
