Closest to the Body with Icebreaker
Icebreaker creates endless possibilities with their merino wool base layers for skiing, mountain biking, and running – keeping you warm while breathing naturally.

Icebreaker creates endless possibilities on the cross-country ski trail, the alpine slope, on the mountain bike, or on the running track with their merino wool base layers. The base layers come in several different styles and colors and keep you warm while breathing so you don’t feel damp next to the skin.
Icebreaker’s base layers are produced in three different gram weights – indicating the amount of merino in grams per square meter – 150, 200, and 260 grams, depending on weather conditions. GT Base Layer 200 is Icebreaker’s flagship base layer, suitable for all types of training. The fabric contains 3 percent lycra for a better body fit. For fall 2011, Icebreaker has also developed Bodyfit 200+, a base layer in 100% merino wool in multiple colors and patterns that can also be used in an active everyday life beyond the ski tracks.
For Icebreaker, everything is about the relationship to nature and to people. The advantage of merino wool is that the garments become easy to care for, soft, quick-drying, and warm. Merino wool is also a natural material that constantly breathes, is odor-resistant, and is environmentally biodegradable. Icebreaker manufactures their own fabrics, giving all garments a high-quality finish.
Icebreaker actively works to be as transparent as possible in their handling and production of merino wool. That’s why they developed BAACODE in 2008 – a unique code that helps consumers trace the garment’s origin. The code is on a green tag inside the garment and can be entered at icebreaker.com to learn more about the garment, the merino farm, the sheep’s living conditions, and the entire manufacturing process.
