Down is a natural product that insulates heat in an absolutely fantastic way. Tierra’s “Box construction” with no sewn-through seams makes these jackets extra warm while maintaining low weight.

Tierra works exclusively with one down manufacturer in the world, and everyone involved in the manufacturing chain has signed Tierra’s code of conduct. Tierra is committed to ensuring the manufacturing process follows strict rules developed to guarantee good animal husbandry, slaughter, and down handling. Regular quality inspections are conducted on-site in collaboration with inspectors from Fjällräven. The approved down for Tierra’s down jackets is transported in sealed bags marked with Tierra’s name – first for separate drying, then washing with eco-certified shampoo, on to a new drying process and quality control. A complicated process, but good for animals, people, and the environment in the long run.
