Fjällräven’s Abisko Lightweight tent range, introduced in 2011, aimed to combine strength with low weight and a shape that minimized wind resistance. One-, two- and three-person versions were designed for mountain and lowland trips in spring, summer and autumn.

Abisko also became the shared name for a wider hiking range, including a backpack, pants and shorts, all emphasizing light weight, flexibility and versatility.

The Abisko Lightweight 1 was a single-pole solo tent. The two- and three-person versions were tunnel tents. All targeted three-season use, with practical features and room for equipment alongside the weight savings important on a walking trip.

The tunnel models developed the existing Akka Shape with revised dimensions and details. Their inner tents provided space for common sleeping-mat sizes, while the large vestibules held backpacks and other equipment.

Fjällräven said a triple-ripstop weaving technique increased the fabric’s strength while keeping it light. The material was also described as UV-resistant and able to retain its shape in wet and humid weather.
