Fjällräven brings back the Canada Shirt
The Canada Shirt returned to Fjällräven’s collection in 2011, 35 years after its debut, with a roomy wool-blend design for outdoor layering.
In 2011, 35 years after its launch, Fjällräven brought the Canada Shirt back into its collection. The original quickly became an outdoor favorite when it arrived in 1976: a versatile wool shirt that could be adapted to changing conditions.
Outdoor shirts were enjoying renewed interest. Sleeves can be rolled up and the front opened fully when activity generates heat. In a cold wind, the collar can be turned up to protect the neck. Pockets also keep useful items close at hand, whether traveling or walking in the woods.
Made from a soft, practical wool blend, the Canada Shirt was intended for long days outdoors: light, warm and insulating even when damp. Its roomy lumberjack-shirt cut featured snaps at the front, cuffs and pocket flaps. The chest pockets sat slightly lower than on many shirts to make them easier to reach.
It could be worn alone as a light shirt jacket or as an insulating midlayer beneath a shell.
