Panasonic introduces the waterproof Lumix DMC-FT10
Panasonic’s 2010 Lumix DMC-FT10 offered a rugged body, 14.1-megapixel photos, 4× optical zoom and 720p video for outdoor use.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT10 was introduced in 2010 as an outdoor camera rated waterproof to three meters, freeze-resistant to −10°C, resistant to drops from 1.5 meters and protected against dust.
It offered 14.1 million effective pixels and 4× optical zoom. The 6.3–25.2 mm lens was equivalent to 35–140 mm in full-frame terms, with a maximum aperture ranging from f/3.5 to f/5.9 and close focusing down to 10 cm. A 2.7-inch display provided the view, and video recording reached 1280 × 720p at 30 frames per second.
Intelligent Auto analyzed the scene and selected settings automatically. Other features included face detection for up to 15 faces with a memory function, plus MEGA OIS optical image stabilization.
The DMC-FT10 was a pared-back version of the DMC-FT2, which the source rated for depths of ten meters and drops from three meters. Apart from those ratings and the lens, the two were described as broadly similar.
The package included a battery charger, battery, silicone case, AV cable, USB cable, wrist strap and CD-ROM.
