Primus TrailBreak vacuum bottle

Primus announced a new generation of vacuum flasks in 2015, designed to be easier to grip and pack into crowded backpacks.

The TrailBreak’s slightly tapered shape helps it fit into a tight pack and makes it easier to hold, including with gloves or mittens on cold days.

Like Primus’s other vacuum flasks, it uses double walls with vacuum insulation to slow heat transfer. The design is intended to keep drinks warm during cold conditions or long outings, from ski tours and days on the slopes to walks in the forest. It also insulates cold drinks.

The flask is made from high-quality stainless steel for durability. Its interior has no coating, which Primus said would help preserve the drink’s taste. The cup is also double-walled stainless steel, providing insulation for the drink and extra protection for the stopper.

A wide opening makes filling and cleaning easier and accommodates ice cubes, smoothies or a spoon. For drinking directly from the flask, the standard stopper can be exchanged for the included ClickClose stopper.

Features and launch prices

  • Double-walled vacuum insulation for hot or cold drinks.
  • High-quality stainless steel.
  • Tapered shape for easier handling.
  • Two included stoppers: standard and ClickClose.

TrailBreak flask sizes were 0.5, 0.75 and 1 liter, priced at SEK 379, SEK 399 and SEK 449 respectively. A vacuum mug was also offered at SEK 299.
