Salomon’s clothing picks for winter running
A look back at Salomon’s 2011 winter running layers, convertible jacket, pants and studded shoes.
Darkness, cold and slippery conditions can make winter running feel difficult. Clothing that can be added or removed along the way helps avoid the common mistake of dressing too warmly. These were Salomon’s product suggestions for winter 2011.
EXO XR 12 ZIP LS TECH TEE: A long-sleeved base layer with EXO Sensfit technology intended to support muscles and stabilize the body on uneven terrain. Salomon also claimed benefits for endurance, recovery and reducing cramps and injuries; these were product claims in the original announcement. Price: SEK 800.
MOTO II ZIP: A midlayer with a half zip and soft, stretchy actiLITE Motomesh fabric. Its waffle texture was designed to help moisture evaporate quickly. Available in six women’s colors and five men’s colors. Price: SEK 600.
XT Zip Off Jacket: A popular softshell with removable sleeves for versatility. A windproof front and stretch back made it suitable for year-round activities. Price: SEK 1,400.
Superfast II Pants: Lightweight, close-fitting pants with wind protection at the front and stretch at the back, intended for high-intensity sports in cold conditions. Price: SEK 1,000.
Spikecross 3CS: A studded winter trail-running shoe based on Salomon’s Speedcross. It had nine carbide studs for slippery paths and roads, a CLIMASHIELD upper intended to help keep feet drier and warmer, and Salomon’s Quicklace lacing system. Price: SEK 1,700.
