custom drysuit

For paddlers, sailors and other watersports enthusiasts in the Nordic climate, a drysuit can be a valuable piece of equipment. At Swesport in 2012, we found a reasonably priced, made-to-measure suit produced in Germany and tailored to the wearer’s shape.

Elite catamaran sailors had spent a year designing, developing and testing the suit. Because each one was made individually, customers could request additions or changes. Custom printing was also available for teams and groups.

The standard specification included:

  • Highly breathable technical fabric, described as similar to Gore-Tex.
  • Neoprene neck and wrist seals, with enclosed latex feet; fabric feet could be substituted.
  • An attached adjustable belt with elastic at the back, replacing internal suspenders.
  • An inside pocket.
  • A long zipper positioned to avoid interfering with a trapeze harness.
  • A zipper that also opened from the bottom for use as a fly.
  • Sealed seams, made with equipment of the type required for Gore-Tex certification.
  • Gray fabric with red or blue panels.
  • Cutting and sewing in Germany.

Customers supplied their measurements in millimeters when ordering. The quoted delivery time was approximately 14 working days, at a price of SEK 4,200.
