66° North Snæfell Jacket wins the 2011 ISPO Outdoor Award
The Polartec NeoShell jacket won the softgoods category, with the jury praising its cut, finish and details.

Icelandic brand 66° North won the softgoods category of the 2011 ISPO Outdoor Award with its Snæfell Jacket, made from the then-new Polartec NeoShell fabric.
The lightweight, two-way-stretch material was intended for demanding outdoor use. The jury was impressed by the ergonomic cut of both men’s and women’s versions, including articulated elbows and seamless shoulders for freedom of movement. NeoShell was described as combining waterproof protection with strong breathability.
The jury’s statement read:
“Thanks to its high-tech Polartec NeoShell material, the Snæfell Jacket offers exceptional functions for many different activities. Excellent finishing, smart details and high quality complete the overall concept. The jacket suits a broad range of outdoor users.”
At the time, the Snæfell Jacket was also nominated for the Scandinavian Outdoor Award.
I Love Outdoor congratulated 66° North on the award.
