This compact device helps whenever you need to tension and secure a cord. I kept finding new uses for it, especially when pitching a tarp in bad weather. In those conditions, the speed and ease of securing the lines are particularly welcome.
I first saw it demonstrated at the Friedrichshafen trade show in 2008 and immediately thought of several situations where it would be useful. By the time of this 2010 article, I regularly carried a few Figure 9s in different sizes.
After passing through several distributors in Sweden, the product was beginning to appear in more stores. For anyone who spends time outdoors, it is a small accessory worth a closer look.
