Sportfiskarna launches Fiskekort.se
The 2013 portal made fishing permits available online and by phone for waters across Sweden.

In April 2013, Sportfiskarna introduced Fiskekort.se, a portal for buying fishing permits from a computer or mobile phone.
“Buying permits for tens of thousands of waters is now very simple and possible around the clock, wherever you are. You can buy a permit while on your way to the fishing spot,” said Mikael Dalman, responsible for Fiskekort.se at Sportfiskarna.
At launch, permits covered waters from Simrishamn in the south to Kiruna in the north. The portal emphasized intuitive navigation, focused content and a simpler purchase process, with a format adapted for mobile browsing. Its range was expected to grow as more fishing areas joined.
“We see anglers increasingly wanting to buy permits on their phones. Demand for digital permits is also growing as fewer traditional local sales outlets are available,” Dalman explained.
For permit administrators, paper systems could be time-consuming: tracking sales, counting permits and collecting cash all required work. Fiskekort.se also offered a retailer service intended to simplify the process for both sellers and buyers.
Customers could pay by card or in cash at a participating retailer. Administrators could follow purchases in real time, with simpler accounting, lower permit-printing costs and an easier way to add more sellers.
