Suunto’s M series aims to make training simpler
The 2010 watch range offered straightforward controls and training guidance, with optional sensors for the M5.

Getting into a regular exercise routine can take motivation, but the tools should be easy to use. That was the idea behind Suunto’s M series, introduced in 2010.
The range offered guidance on when to train, how long a session should last and how hard to work. Suunto emphasized step-by-step instructions, three-button operation and Swedish-language menus.
The lineup comprised the M1, M2, M4 and top-of-the-range M5, supplied with heart-rate belts. More advanced models offered features such as transferring training data to the then-current Movescount.com service.
The M5 could also be paired with optional foot, bike or GPS POD sensors.
