Vaude previews the Norrsken mat and ultralight tents
Vaude’s planned summer 2011 releases paired an insulated sleeping mat with tents weighing 0.8–1.6 kg.
Vaude played with the idea of being both northern and light when naming its new inflatable mat Norrsken, Swedish for “northern lights.”
The longer version was listed at 600 g and the shorter at 500 g. PrimaLoft Infinity insulation was intended to provide warmth and a comfortable night’s sleep.
The mat was presented alongside Vaude’s Ultralight tents, with announced weights ranging from 0.8 to 1.6 kg. The company described them as durable and stable in wind, with waterproof seams, a silicone treatment and a 3,000 mm hydrostatic-head rating.
The original preview suggested pairing the mat and tent with a sleeping bag for a complete sleeping setup. These products were expected to launch in summer 2011.
