“What does your stove weigh? Mine weighs 11.5 grams!”
Esbit’s tiny titanium solid-fuel stove caught our attention at Swesport, alongside a coffee maker and folding charcoal grill.
That is what owners of Esbit’s lightweight titanium stove could say, although the weight of their pots still had to be added.
German brand Esbit is best known for solid-fuel stoves. During our visit to Outdoor Extreme Sport’s stand at Swesport in 2011, the tiny Titanium Solid Fuel Stove immediately caught our eye. Its 11.5 g weight was strikingly low, as was its SEK 149 price. The original report linked growing interest in solid-fuel equipment with tighter air-travel rules, without setting out what travelers could carry.
The Stainless Steel Coffee Maker was another appealing discovery. It ran on two 4 g solid-fuel tablets. After use, the burner packed inside the coffee maker, with a storage bag protecting the set. Weight was approximately 300 g and the price SEK 589.
The Stainless Steel Foldable BBQ used charcoal instead of fuel tablets. The supplied charcoal bag and carrying bag were intended to make the grill and fuel easy to transport for an outing with friends. The original article also described packing out charcoal residue to avoid leaving litter. The grill cost SEK 849.
