New Pace Stripe top

Helly Hansen’s spring/summer 2012 training collection for women and men ranged from wind jackets, midlayers, tanks and T-shirts to full-length and cropped tights and shorts.

The design team again worked with Swedish cross-country skiers Emil Jönsson and Anna Haag, who were also a couple outside sport. Their ongoing feedback helped develop technical details for athletes seeking high-performance training clothing.

The tops used Helly Hansen’s Lifa fabric to move moisture away and help keep the body cool during demanding sessions. Highlights included the New Pace Stripe, Pace Sleeveless and long-sleeved Pace 1/2 Zip, with its neck zipper and lower-back pocket. The returning ultralight Windfoil jacket could now convert into a vest using shoulder zippers, a practical option when warming up on the trail.

Pace tights for women and men, and women’s Pace 3/4 tights, used spandex with mesh behind the knees and a rear key pocket. Men also had the shorter Pace Shorts option.

Sizes were S–2XL for men and XS–XL for women. Alongside black and white, men’s colors included bright yellow and cobalt; women’s included pink and cobalt.
