Organic cotton and recycled polyester featured in several Tierra favorites for spring 2012: the Scirocco Hood and Zero jackets, retro-inspired Gale Jacket, and Vault pants and shorts. Tierra described recycled polyester from bottles and recovered fabrics as offering performance comparable to other technical clothing materials.

Gale Jacket

This retro model recalled Tierra’s 1990s designs. The water-repellent jacket used 76% organic cotton and 24% recycled polyester and came in several colors for women and men. Price: SEK 1,699.

Scirocco Hood Jacket and Scirocco Zero Jacket

These windproof, water-repellent jackets came with and without a hood, using 100% recycled polyester and carrying the Eco-Circle symbol. Eco-Circle was developed by Japanese polyester-recycling company Teijin.

The Scirocco Zero Jacket had a fleece lining. Both jackets packed into their own pocket, which had a hanging loop for attaching to a bicycle or climbing harness. They were offered in four colors in men’s and women’s versions. Listed price: SEK 999.

Vault Pants and Vault Shorts

The name Vault took inspiration from urban action gymnastics. Angled side seams provided freedom of movement.

The trousers came in men’s and women’s versions, with belt loops, a fly and a discreet waist adjustment. Rear pockets fastened with buttons, and elastic cord adjusted the cuffs.

The fabric was 76% organic cotton and 24% recycled polyester, described in the announcement as resistant to ice-cream stains for summer use. Prices: SEK 749 for shorts and SEK 1,299 for pants.
