ZlideOn replaces broken zipper sliders
ZlideOn clips onto an existing zipper to replace a damaged slider, offering a quick repair for items such as jackets, bags and tents.
ZlideOn replaces a broken zipper slider with a simple fitting on the existing zipper. The 2010 announcement described versions for all zipper types.
It is a clever response to a familiar problem, and something I had long wanted. Being able to repair a jacket, bag or tent zipper quickly can make a real difference in the field.
The idea came from Sven Leveau, who invented the small device in the 1950s. Nothing further happened at the time, but he passed it on to his grandson Jens in the 1980s. Jens and his wife Sara later patented the design and founded Zip Clip Solution.
At the time of this article, ZlideOn was available from retailers including Clas Ohlson, Babyproffsen and City Gross.
