Our softgear of the year goes to one of this fall’s new arrivals from Marmot – the Variant Jacket, offering both insulation and ventilation.
The Variant Jacket combines insulation over the chest and stomach with flexibility and ventilation over the back and arms. This is an innovative garment with a body-hugging fit that we at the editorial team really appreciated when trying it on. The front is windproof and the insulation consists of Primaloft Thermal R Eco, which contains natural, organic, and recycled materials for minimal environmental impact. The sleeves and back panel are made from the thinner Polartec® Power Stretch® for increased ventilation, moisture transport, and freedom of movement.
This is the jacket for intense activities during the colder months of the year. The thumb holes keep the sleeves in place when you take off outer layers and gloves.
The jacket weighs only 561 grams and has a recommended retail price of SEK 1,400. You’ll find the jacket at well-stocked retailers.
