Haglöfs is now aiming for a more global expansion and becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Japanese Asics Corporation.

Asics has been searching for an outdoor company to complement their core business, while Haglöfs needed a partner with the expertise and capability to support the company in a global expansion. Now Haglöfs becomes part of the world’s third-largest sports shoe company and hopes to strengthen its position as a premium brand.

The price tag was approximately one billion Swedish kronor, and owner Ratos walks away with a handsome return on their investment.
