Nigel Foster – One of the World's Top Sea Kayakers Comes to Västerås

Nigel Foster, a major figure in the sea kayak world, tells the story of his unusual adventure that he undertook in 2010 with his wife Kristin Nelson. “Kayak across France – From Sea to Sea.”

This time there were no encounters with polar bears – instead the trip went from the Mediterranean through France’s wine country to the Atlantic. 160 locks were passed through, including Europe’s oldest canal tunnel, a number of wine tastings were conducted, and numerous local markets were visited.

Now you have the chance to hear about an unusual kayak adventure that shows you don’t have to venture out on the open seas to experience great adventures.
