Garmin introduces an in-hull transducer mount for kayaks
The 2015 mounting accessory was designed to protect compatible sonar transducers inside a kayak hull.

Garmin announced a kayak-specific in-hull transducer mount in 2015. It allowed a compatible sonar transducer to be installed inside the kayak for use with Garmin fishfinders and combination units.
Garmin described the mount as easy to install, suitable for a broad range of kayaks and protective against wear. Supported transducers included options for the echo, echoMAP and GPSMAP combination ranges, including dual-beam HD-ID and DownVü models. DownVü was intended to show detailed images of the bottom, structure and fish beneath the kayak.
The announcement directed readers to www.garmin.com/transducers for compatible models.
Installation required no specialist tools: the adhesive base was attached to the hull, the cavity filled with water and the transducer placed in the mount with air removed. Garmin said the installed mount was designed to remain secure when exposed to moisture and normal use.
Availability was expected in June 2015, at a recommended price of approximately SEK 159.
