Svenskt Sportforum’s buying fair for the Swedish outdoor industry, iOD, was scheduled for August 13–15, 2011, in Sollentuna. Nearly 50 outdoor companies were expected, with adventurers Annelie Pompe and Ola Skinnarmo among the best-known speakers.

The fair focused on business: giving outdoor retailers a place to meet suppliers and place orders in an inspiring setting. In cooperation with the Scandinavian Outdoor Group, SOG, it also offered a program of short talks, including breakfast and lunch sessions, intended to leave time for buying appointments.

“I am pleased we have attracted so many good speakers. It makes the fair more appealing and supports our aim to make iOD an important event for the whole Swedish outdoor industry,” said project manager Rodney Hiram of Svenskt Sportforum.

Visitors could also try activities and products, including slacklining and stand-up paddling.

“Edsviken is ideal for an outdoor fair because we can offer surroundings that inspire activity: the bay is right below us, alongside rocks and beautiful parkland,” said Hiram.
