Salomon CityTrail: Clothing for urban running adventures
Salomon’s 2015 CityTrail range brought trail-running ideas to the city, with versatile clothing, shoes and a backpack for active commuters.
Salomon’s CityTrail™ concept brought the spirit of trail running into the city. Introduced here in 2015, the range combined technical clothing and practical equipment for everyday urban activities with a sense of adventure.
Salomon drew on its trail-running expertise in precise fit, freedom of movement and comfort over long distances on demanding, changing terrain.
“The desire to find new routes, varied surfaces and new places is what underpins CityTrail,” explained Anders Andersson, responsible for clothing, accessories and backpacks at Salomon. “It is a way to make everyday running more interesting. Whether you run to and from work or during your lunch break, CityTrail is a way to escape the usual routine.”
The range included a complete selection of shoes and clothing. A Salomon CityTrail app also helped runners develop their pace, find and share routes, and discover sights in more than 90 cities worldwide. The clothing was designed for a wide range of weather.
“In the city, you need versatile equipment that works for lots of activities,” Andersson said. “That is why we have developed extremely versatile gear that also performs at a high level for advanced runners. These garments are ready for anything, and that is the message behind CityTrail.”
Elevate Tee: A very light men’s T-shirt containing 14% wool, designed to feel soft and comfortable in both warm and cold weather. Price: SEK 600.
Elevate Seamless Tee: A seamless women’s top for varied weather and activities. It also came as the Elevate Seamless Tank. Price: SEK 500.
Elevate Mid: A versatile men’s and women’s layer with a soft feel, wind protection, a hood and breathable fabric for colder weather. Price: SEK 1,300.
Park 2 in 1 Shorts / Elevate Shorts: Lightweight, supportive, well-fitting shorts for men and women respectively, suited to a range of fast-paced sports. Men’s price: SEK 500; women’s: SEK 700.
Elevate Commuter: A backpack for people who train on the way to and from work. Its compartments accommodated shoes, spare clothing and a laptop in a supportive sleeve. Price: SEK 1,000.
