Suunto introduces a white Ambit2 S designed for women
The white Ambit2 S launch paired a soft silicone strap with multisport tracking and two app ideas submitted by women using Suunto watches.
Suunto introduced a white edition of the Ambit2 S GPS watch in 2013, with a soft, elastic silicone strap designed for women’s fit and comfort. Intended for activities including cycling, running and swimming, it displayed speed, distance and heart rate.
For the launch, Suunto asked women who used Ambit watches to suggest new apps. Dozens of ideas arrived, ranging from practical to playful. Two were selected for development and made available through Suunto App Zone.
Workout & Refuel App, suggested by Aleksandra Mikołajczak and Miriam Plana, was designed to support post-workout recovery by displaying suggested quantities of fat, protein and carbohydrates in grams.
Workout Celebration App, suggested by Nina Sibley, took a playful approach to rewards. During exercise, it told users when their effort had supposedly “earned” a glass of champagne, or even a bottle after a long workout. This was the campaign’s novelty app concept, not nutritional or drinking advice.
