Primus invited our editorial team to an unusual everyday adventure led by Ola Skinnarmo, an evening we would not soon forget.

The chance to try new Primus products while hearing the adventurer’s advice and stories was too good to miss. We headed to Fiskartorpet’s outdoor recreation center, ten minutes from central Stockholm, where set tables and good company awaited.

We cooked with Ola and learned about making efficient use of a stove’s energy, which Primus called Eco Cooking, as well as considerations when using gas in low temperatures. The session included demonstrations of multifuel stoves and discussion of preparing gas for cold-weather use. We planned to return to that subject in a separate article.

After an excellent meal, Primus presented upcoming products. One was the popular SkiWax Set, a portable ski-waxing burner designed to let skiers wax their skis wherever they were. With a built-in piezo igniter and a total weight of 342 g, it was small enough to carry in a backpack on an extended outing.

Some other products were still under wraps, so we could not yet describe them or show their designs. We were among the first people outside Primus to see a new product intended for the following year’s range. Our January 2011 report promised further coverage once Primus officially announced it and the other new items.
