In 2010, Swiss company Sedalia Hotel & Residences proposed a new hotel and spa at Säfsen Resort. Plans included 60 four-star rooms, a 1,500 m² spa, restaurants and conference facilities.

Säfsen had set aside approximately 15,000 m² for the project. The announcement suggested the complex could be completed 18 months after construction began.

“Our project is unique in several respects. For example, the facility will be self-sufficient in energy, or even produce a surplus. All rooms will also be accessible to guests with disabilities,” said Sedalia CEO Birgitt Bertram.

These were plans and claims in the 2010 announcement, not confirmation that the development was completed.
