Another design award for Helly Hansen’s H²FLOW

Helly Hansen’s technical clothing earned further design recognition in 2013 when the Norwegian Design Council awarded its H2 Flow Jacket a Design Excellence award. H²FLOW technology had already received a 2012 GOOD DESIGN™ award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

Helly Hansen developed the patented H²FLOW system to meet Volvo Ocean Race sailors’ need for lightweight, versatile clothing that could adapt to extreme changes between cold and warm conditions. Its material construction incorporated a system for controlling airflow.

H2 Flow Jacket

This jacket combined an insulating lining, ventilation system and breathable protective outer layer. It could be worn as a midlayer or on its own.

Men’s colors: red, orange, lime green and cobalt blue.

Odin H2 Flow Jacket

The Odin model integrated H²FLOW into a technical shell, combining the Odin collection’s lightweight waterproof, breathable construction with mechanical ventilation for temperature adjustment. Helly Hansen described it as a favorite among professional outdoor athletes.

Women’s colors: pink and cobalt blue.
