Friluftsfrämjandet wants more municipalities to have the resources to help children spend time outdoors. The organisation points to this year’s municipal survey in its call for long-term investment.
In a statement published on August 28, it notes that Sundsvall was named Sweden’s outdoor municipality for 2026. Of the 219 municipalities responding to the survey, 93 reported an adopted outdoor recreation plan, strategy, or policy. The organisation is calling for stronger state support. These are its policy proposals, not government decisions.
