The new eTrex Touch 25 and 35 is our new series of handheld GPS devices with touchscreen, designed for active families and people who enjoy spending time outdoors. The eTrex Touch series has an entirely new interface with improved user-friendliness. Activity profiles are optimized for use across multiple different activities, and with the 2.6” capacitive touchscreen, it becomes even simpler – just press and go. The new TopoActive map of Europe comes pre-installed along with 250,000 geocaches, and a bike mount is included in the package. The new eTrex Touch series is robust and reliable with a high-sensitivity receiver for both GPS and GLONASS as well as an electronic compass for safe navigation under all conditions.

The eTrex Touch series is designed for people who want an easy way to participate in multiple outdoor activities with just one device. New activity profiles have been developed to give the user a better navigation experience for each activity. Whether it’s mountain walks, hiking, cycling, or geocaching, it will be easier than ever to switch between activities with the new eTrex Touch. This makes it easy to use one and the same device for multiple different purposes – so straightforward that even children can use the device without problems.
The eTrex Touch series is ready to use right away. It comes pre-programmed with the new recreational map TopoActive covering Europe with 46 countries and has 8GB of internal memory. Additionally, all models come pre-programmed with 250,000 geocaches from Geocaching.com so users can head out on an electronic treasure hunt immediately. Users can also use Garmin Connect and Garmin Adventures to explore other activities and share their adventures with family and friends. There is a microSD card slot, making it easy to add additional maps such as Garmin’s detailed topographic maps, Friluftskartan Pro v4, Friluftskartan Prime, road maps, or marine charts.
Both the eTrex Touch 25 and 35 have a 2.6” capacitive color touchscreen that is easy to read even in strong sunlight, a battery life of up to 16 hours, and a robust, ergonomic design that withstands all types of weather and conditions1. It has a high-sensitivity GPS receiver with GLONASS support and HotFix® for fast satellite acquisition, which means the eTrex Touch series quickly and precisely detects the user’s position, even in dense terrain and ravines. All devices in the eTrex Touch series have a built-in 3-axis compass, meaning you get direction indicated even when standing still. The eTrex 35 also has a barometric altimeter for more accurate altitude indication, elevation gradient, and climb information as well as weather changes. This makes the eTrex Touch a perfect GPS for people engaged in alpine activities such as mountain hiking or mountain biking.
The eTrex 35 is compatible with wireless ANT+™ technology and can therefore be paired with sensors such as heart rate monitors, tempe™ temperature sensor, Chirp™ geocaching beacon, or speed and cadence sensor for cycling. The eTrex 35 can be paired via Bluetooth with compatible smartphones2 to receive smart notifications and keep you connected during your adventure, while your smartphone stays packed away and well protected. Additionally, these devices are compatible with the Garmin Connect™ mobile app so you can transfer data and access features like LiveTrack. The LiveTrack function means users can let friends and family follow their activity in real time. A simple way to feel safe, especially if the user is alone. The eTrex 35 can also be used as a wireless remote control for Garmin’s action camera VIRB®.
The eTrex Touch 25 will have a recommended price of 2,499 SEK and the eTrex Touch 35 will have a recommended price of 2,999 SEK. The products will be available in August 2015.
