The industry magazine Sportfack has named Haglöfs Environmental Brand of the Year. Haglöfs received the award during Swesport, held January 11-12 this year.
Being conscious and taking responsibility have long been guiding principles at Haglöfs. Issues such as environmental impact, working conditions, and human rights are included as parameters in Haglöfs’ daily operations. Developing high-quality products with long lifespans is a natural first step, but Haglöfs’ sustainability work goes much further than that.
In 2013, Haglöfs formulated new, more aggressive sustainability goals valid through 2015.
- 50% of all products sold within Clothing shall be made from recycled materials.
- 80% of all products sold within Clothing shall be bluesign® products, i.e., made from materials approved by bluesign®.
- 50% of all products sold within Hardware shall be made from bluesign®-approved and/or recycled materials.
- 40% of all products sold within Footwear shall be made from recycled materials.
Now the outdoor industry has recognized the company’s sustainability work, and on Sunday, Haglöfs received the Environmental Brand of the Year award from the industry magazine Sportfack.
– We are very proud of this award; it is a great recognition of our consistent sustainability work in recent years, says Lennart Ekberg, Sustainability Director at Haglöfs.
The award was presented to Haglöfs during the outdoor and sports trade show Swesport, held in Stockholm on January 11-12.
