Houdini Sportswear and Haglöfs join Animal Rights' fur-free list

Houdini Sportswear and Haglöfs have joined Djurens Rätt’s (Animal Rights Sweden) fur-free list. They join good company with over 120 other companies that have adopted a fur-free policy.

Houdini has been fur-free since its founding in 1993, and much of their clothing is made from recycled or renewable material. The company believes it’s an important stance to say no to fur, partly from an ethical perspective, but also because there are other materials that do the job much better.

– It was a fairly easy choice since we’ve never had fur, or down, in our production. Partly, we find it difficult on ethical grounds, but we also see great functional advantages with the materials we choose instead, replies Houdini’s Axel Lindgren when asked why they chose to join Djurens Rätt’s fur-free list.

Haglöfs has been around since 1914 and is the Nordic region’s largest outdoor company and has just been named Environmental Company of the Year 2014. Haglöfs has three stores in Sweden and is available at a large number of retailers in Europe and Japan.
