Navi Light 360 review: navigation, signaling and general lighting
We tested Navisafe’s Navi Light 360, a compact floating LED light with magnetic mounting and five lighting modes.
Being visible on the water matters, particularly at dusk and after dark. We tested Navisafe’s Navi Light 360, a compact unit for navigation lighting, signaling and general illumination.
The light uses 16 bright white LEDs powered by three AAA batteries. The specifications quoted water resistance to 20 meters, visibility up to 9 km in darkness and a runtime of 24–120 hours depending on mode. The unit also floats.
Its dual magnetic mounting system combines four strong magnets in the light with a separate magnetic plate. The plate can be fitted to a kayak, for example, allowing the lamp to be attached and removed easily. The built-in magnets also secure it to suitable metal surfaces, such as the underside of a car hood or fittings in a boat. With the mounting plate, it can be attached to clothing, a life jacket or a tent.
Holding the central button for two seconds turns the unit on. Further presses cycle through five modes: steady light from all LEDs, 360-degree flashing, 225-degree forward light, 135-degree rear light and 360-degree position lighting using four LEDs. Holding the button for another two seconds switches it off.
We found the Navi Light thoughtfully designed and useful both afloat and in everyday situations. Its versatility made it easy to understand why it had received several awards.
